“We are a social species; we are meant to be in community - emotionally, socially, and physically connected with others. If you look at the fundamental organization and functioning of the human body, including the brain, you will see that so much of it is intended to help us create, maintain, and manage social interactions.

Excerpt from: What Happened to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience and Healing by Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D and Oprah Winfrey

Moon Rabbit focuses on interconnectedness in order to achieve balance and harmony both physically and mentally. We’re dedicated to creating an environment and a community that simply feels good. Moon Rabbit is a wellness sanctuary — not only a place where you can tune inward and connect with your mind, body, and spirit, but also where you also feel part of a whole. We’re all about building a culture of connection for our new and seasoned clients. In fact, our membership program takes all of this a step further as we work closely with our members' to create integrated, custom health plans to restore balance and improve well-being with the goal of achieving health and happiness.

An article in the New York Times highlights the importance of community and discusses a study that identifies the healing effects of gatherings and how vital it is to come together. The article calls out some important stats:

“When people are socially disconnected, their risk of anxiety and depression increases. So does their risk of heart disease (29 percent), dementia (50 percent), and stroke (32 percent)… Loneliness and isolation hurt whole communities. Social disconnection is associated with reduced productivity in the workplace, worse performance in school, and diminished civic engagement.”

The vibe of our space is generally low key as we’re a place of relaxation. However, Moon Rabbit loves to gather our community. We’ll keep you updated on various events — everything from group meditations to parties for Mid-Autumn Fest and the Lunar New Year!

Are there other ways that Moon Rabbit can support you/make you feel connected? Please let us know! You, our community, bring the energy and make our sanctuary sing — we’re endlessly grateful.
